Lady May is a 20 year old dun Grade Quarter Horse mare. She arrived at Dove Creek from a kill pen in Bowie, Texas in December 2021. We learned she was a brood mare most of her life. In the beginning Lady May was untrusting of humans and not willing to be handled. With time and patience, she continues to heal and now allows humans to catch, halter, and groom her. Besides entering the training program, she has joined the herd roaming on the land with the other horses, adapting to her natural environment with socialization from the other horses.
